15 Best Revenge Short Dramas: Divorce, Rebirth & Hidden-Identity Payback (ReelShort, DramaBox & ShortMax)

ReelShort's official revenge tag lists more than 1,400 shows. That's more than its billionaire tag (1,025 when I sorted through that one). The most honest summary of the appeal I found is a comment on r/ReelShorts: "The tropes are crazy silly. Slap, slap, wine-toss, slap, slap, but as someone who grew up on General Hospital and Days of our Lives, these verticals are like catnip and I appreciate the instant gratification." (thread)

The instant part is where most of these shows fail. A post on r/Vertical_Dramas asking "Who else just skips through the scenes where people just stand around insulting each other endlessly?" passed 170 upvotes, and the replies read like a list of what people skip: the screaming, the bystanders who pull out their phones to film, the crowd that joins in. One reply sums it up: "Me lmao I skip to the revenge part." (thread) The humiliation is only there to set up the payback, and in too many shows it takes up most of the run.

So here's my list of fifteen shows across ReelShort, DramaBox and ShortMax, grouped by the kind of payback. Some are about betrayal: someone she trusted sold her out, and the show is her collecting the debt. In rebirth shows she has already died once, usually murdered, and woke up in the past knowing how it ends. And in hidden-identity shows, everyone treats her like nobody while she happens to own the room.

Every title has a verified official page; I checked episode counts against the platform and ratings against IMDb (as of September 2026), and the free-episode rules sit in one table at the bottom. No platform pays me.

Divorce and Betrayal Revenge Dramas

The biggest group and the one with the most variety, because "betrayal" covers everything from a cheating husband to a best friend helping a murderer walk free. Most follow the same shape. The first act is her losing everything, and the rest is everyone who took it finding out what she's capable of.

Divorced at the Wedding Day (DramaBox)

People search for this one more than any other show on the list. It has 51 episodes and came out in June 2025. A pregnant widow comes home for her brother's engagement party. The bride's mother takes her for his pregnant mistress, and the bride drags her into the party and humiliates her in front of every guest. One pedantic note: nobody is actually married, so nobody gets divorced. The first 18 episodes are free, which covers the entire setup and the first round of payback. Medical Genius Is Not Someone to Mess with (ShortMax)

Grace gave up her career for her family, then discovers her husband's affair and the child he had with his mistress. She's divorced with nothing and comes back as director of a major medical center. At 43 episodes it's the shortest show here, and IMDb has it at 7.0. It hits harder than the title suggests, because the family that threw her out ends up needing a surgeon, and they're the reason her surgical hand is injured. There's a late twist about the child at the center of all this that I won't spoil. Your Love Broke My Heart (ReelShort)

Of the ReelShort shows here, this one gives away the most free episodes, 14 of its 52. Seraph was her family's cherished princess until her sister was murdered, and her own husband and best friend helped the killer escape justice. That's a darker betrayal than the usual affair, and it forces her to grow up overnight. It's one of the newest shows here (2026) and already has 20.4 million views and an IMDb 7.8. Anna DeRusso and Richard Trotter star.

My Firefighter Ex-Husband Burns in Regret (ReelShort)

Content warning first. A child dies in this one, and it's the premise. When a youth center collapses, Hazel's firefighter husband, Jace, saves his ex-lover Candace and her daughter instead of their own daughter, Alyssa. The show is Hazel's pursuit of justice and revenge, and it also gives her a life after it: a foundation for children, and an ex-husband who ends up exiling himself. 56 episodes, first 7 free, 71 million views on the official counter. IMDb's 6.4 is the lowest of the fifteen main picks, and I suspect the grimness is why; if you want revenge that feels earned rather than fun, it's the most serious show here.

You Belong With Me (ReelShort)

Kristine is betrayed by her boyfriend and her best friend, and gets even by sleeping with his rich uncle, Henry, who knows exactly what she's doing and goes along with it anyway. Here the revenge is the start of a romance. 79 episodes, first 7 free, 126.1 million views, and an IMDb 8.3. Watch this if you want the payback to be petty and satisfying rather than bloody.

We Will Love Again (ReelShort)

The most-played show on this list, at 131.4 million views, and the gender-flipped one, where the betrayed party is a man. Noah Preston's fiancée dumped him for being poor; six years later he's back as a billionaire and wants her to pay. Then he learns his mother pressured her into it, and the revenge plot turns into a second-chance romance. 53 episodes, first 8 free, IMDb 7.3. (IMDb's synopsis says five years; the official page says six.)

• Mistaken as His Mate: The Luna's Regret (ReelShort, 60 episodes, IMDb 6.3): The future Luna, Willow, takes the Alpha's pregnant sister Marina for his mistress and attacks her, and Marina loses her baby. Rebirth Revenge Dramas

The trope comes straight from web novels. The heroine is killed (often by her husband), wakes up months or years in the past, and uses what she knows to rewrite everything. It's the fix for the complaint above. She doesn't need thirty episodes of being pushed around to find out who her enemies are, because she already met them the first time.

My Husband Killed Me, then I Won the Mega Ball! (ReelShort)

The best premise on this list, and the title tells you all of it. Adoria Cummins is murdered by her husband, wakes up in the past, and starts her revenge with a Mega Ball win, using what she remembers from her first life. Then she works through everyone who wronged her. 52 episodes, IMDb 7.3 (listed there as "My Husband Killed Me and Then I Won the Megaball"), 30.2 million views. The rebirth show I'd start with.

30 Days Till I Marry My Husband's Nemesis (ReelShort)

Blair is murdered by her husband Jack; IMDb's synopsis adds that he did it with his mistress, Blair's own cousin, for her money. Given a second chance, she goes back to the past and marries Nathan, Jack's nemesis and her own enemy, so she won't be killed again. 70 episodes, 2024, first 7 free, IMDb 7.9, 74.8 million views.

The Reborn Wife's Redemption (ReelShort)

The trope turned inside out. Elena dies in her husband Marcus's arms and realizes, too late, that she hated the wrong man. Reborn, she comes back to protect him, not punish him. 49 episodes, IMDb 7.4, 23 million views. If a straight revenge story sounds exhausting, this is the gentler version.

Ballerina Reborn For Revenge (DramaBox)

Amelia kills her sister Katherine on Katherine's engagement day out of jealousy, then kills herself, and both sisters wake up back at the moment they chose between living with their grandmother or their father, Jay. Both remember how it ended, so it's a rematch rather than a one-sided revenge. 58 episodes, first 6 free, IMDb 7.2, and the most unusual setup from DramaBox on this list.

The Return of My Drama Queen (ReelShort)

The strangest premise here, and the highest IMDb rating on this list at 8.6. Marie Antoinette, on her way to the guillotine, wishes to be reunited with the man she loved. She's reborn as a modern woman, Antonia, already married to him, and her husband, Nick, suggests a divorce. 68 episodes. It's the rebirth trope at its most absurd, and IMDb raters loved it.

Hidden Identity Revenge Dramas

Reddit loves to mock this trope, with good reason: "They don't even know I OWN this company. Well I'm not ready to reveal it yet so I'm going to take insults and getting slapped around for 30 minutes before my super recognizable butler comes to tell everyone" (thread). Most of the shows below keep the humiliation short or give the heroine a better reason for hiding.

Watch Out, I'm The Lady Boss (DramaBox)

The second most-searched show in this article. Eleanor is secretly the CEO of Thunder Circle; the man she helped rise to power throws her out, and then a mysterious billionaire proposes. 64 episodes, IMDb 6.7. The hidden-CEO formula played straight.

CEO Queen: A Mother's Revenge (ReelShort)

The rare revenge show with a mother as the lead. Mary Miller spends fifteen years as a humble orphanage worker, until a brain hemorrhage puts her in a coma. Her adopted daughter Grace sells her own blood to pay for her care; her other children, Rose and William, show what they really are. Then Mary wakes up and says she's the legendary CEO of Phoenix Group, and nobody believes her. 62 episodes, first 7 free, IMDb 7.7, 28 million views.

My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict (ReelShort)

Brielle is wrongly convicted of killing her fiancé's sister. Three years later she's out and starts proving her innocence, with help from a mysterious stranger named Jay. 48 episodes, IMDb 7.5, 26.8 million views. The "hidden identity" here is her innocence, which is a better reason to stay quiet than most billionaires have.

The Day the Champion Racer Lost His Bride (ReelShort)

Alexis, secretly an heiress, spends five years supporting racer Ryder Kane, and a week before she plans to propose, she learns she was only his "practice girlfriend," a placeholder until his first love, Kathy, came back. She agrees to marry billionaire heir Everett Hale and cuts Ryder off completely. There's no revenge scheme; his regret does the rest. 79 episodes, IMDb 6.8, starring Haley Lohrli and Luke Dodge. If you like watching someone realize what they lost, this is the purest version.

Similar Names: Is This the Show From the Ad?

Revenge titles are built from the same half-dozen words (divorce, heiress, CEO, reborn, regret), so near-duplicates are everywhere. Some of it is outright copying. In July 2025 DramaBox's parent company publicly accused ReelShort's studio of releasing series "nearly identical" to its own, and ReelShort pulled three of them (Filmustage). The mix-ups I ran into while writing this:

The Reddit threads for revenge shows are mostly people asking for links. The posts for The Hidden Heiress (111 comments) and The True CEO's Revenge (58 comments) are almost entirely "link please," and one commenter complained that the mirror they found stopped at episode 20. Common Questions

Is there a revenge drama where the payback starts right away?

Rebirth shows come closest. The heroine already knows who betrayed her, so the plotting starts almost immediately; Mega Ball begins its revenge with a lottery win. Among the rest, the shortest shows (Medical Genius at 43 episodes, My Gorgeous Wife is an Ex-Convict at 48) have the least room for filler. If the screaming and the crowd scenes from that Reddit thread are a dealbreaker, the lighter picks are You Belong With Me and The Day the Champion Racer Lost His Bride.

Why no son-in-law or "dragon king" shows?

In Chinese short drama, the male-lead version of this genre (a humiliated son-in-law who's secretly rich or secretly immortal) is huge, and some show up on DramaBox in English-dubbed versions. But the English-speaking short-drama communities barely discuss them: on r/ReelShorts, r/Vertical_Dramas and r/DramaShorts, posts about them get a handful of upvotes and often no comments. The conversation about them happens on r/CShortDramas, among fans of the Chinese originals. That's not proof no one watches them, but it's a different audience from the one this list is for.
